“The pro-abortion worldview will collapse if you remove feelings, and if you remove hyperemotionality. There is no defense using agreed-upon western reason, and western morality which is, 'We don't kill people smaller than us. We do not eradicate those who don't have as much money or worth.' We believe in universal human equality. It is the overarching, big western ideal. It's in our Declaration of Independence. If you believe in universal human equality, there is no room for abortion in that society. It does not exist.”
Aid for Women joins with all those who are mourning the tragic and senseless killing yesterday of Charlie Kirk. Charlie bravely advocated for the rights of unborn children wherever he went. He did so convincingly, and knowledgably, while respecting every dissenter's right to his or her opinion. Charlie helped inform countless Americans about the facts of abortion, with the kind of civil discourse that our nation has been profoundly lacking for many years. We pray fervently for Charlie's wife and children, and all those who knew this good and devout man.
These 2023 statistics, published by the Illinois Department of Public Health illustrate the grim challenges we currently face in Illinois:
• A total of 72,143 abortions were reported, which was a 28% increase from the previous year.
• This was the highest number of abortions ever reported since Illinois started collecting this data in 1973.
• Thirty-six percent of these abortions were performed on women from other states, an increase of 55% from 2022.
• A new clinic in Uptown advertises abortions through 34 weeks of pregnancy.
• Since broad exceptions are built into every abortion law in Illinois, it is considered to be a state with no abortion limits at all.
Aid for Women is responding, compassionately and effectively, helping expectant mothers find solutions to problems in their lives so they do not have to consider an abortion. We are expanding our outreach across Illinois to ensure that all women know they have options! Learn more at our Annual Benefit Dinner on September 25th. We hope to see you there!
